Confidential Document Shredding

Confidential document shredding is a process of disposing your waste and reducing it to very small pieces, making the documents unreadable. This is incredibly important as identity theft becomes more and more prevalent as the years pass. Legally too, it is vital that you protect your employee, financial & customer data and also show that you have written plans in place for doing so. This is where a commercial document shredding service helps.

Commercial shredding companies can send you confidential waste bags in the post so that you can bag up your own documents, files and folders etc... Some companies can even shred manila files and lever arch files, even with all the metal parts still attached. These bags come with a security seal so you can be sure only the people you need to will see the documents. The company will then pick up your filled bags in a secure vehicle and transport them for shredding. The bags are dropped straight into the shredder, so no one will ever see the contents. Whole bags of paper can be shredded in minutes, not just one at a time as with a typical office shredder. Once shredding is complete, the pieces produced are just a few millimetres in size and it would be almost impossible to re-create the original document.

The customer is then provided with a certificate of destruction to prove the process is complete. You should also check that the company will send your shredded documents for recycling, which is not only ethical; it will also help lower your company carbon footprint. After all, what is easier to recycle than paper?
